How to play Font Karuta

All cards are typed by same phrase, “Unique, rich fonts with love”.

But the fonts used for this phrase varies by each card.

Listen carefully to the font name and description that is read out loud.

And pick the cards that has the words using same font as the one read.

Case for Yomifuda

Objective (how to play)

Reader read font name out loud. Player take Torifuda that has text typed by read font. Player who took most Trifuda win the game. Reader may read description of font additionally if player seems to have difficulties on identifying font.

Party play

1 on 1 play

You may play without reader by using “Yomifuda case”. Set up a case, put Yomifuda into it, and pick Yomifuda one by one. By facing front, you may see the font name and it’s description. By facing back, you may only see the font name.

Single play

Place Yomifuda so that it may be seen from the player. This may help beginners to play who are not remembering font name. Also, by placing it so that it may only be seen by beginners, it can also be a handicap when playing with advanced players.
