About the International Business Registration
n recent years, Game Market has seen an increase in international business professionals attending our event looking for the next hottest games from Japan. While we always welcome our friends from overseas to come and visit our event, we have received feedback from a number of exhibitors that it is difficult for them to know the track record or background information of the people who come to talk to them.
Game Market is a wonderful opportunity to bridge the gap between the games made by independent Japanese designers and the rest of the world. In order to help promote the interactions between exhibitors and localization scouts from overseas, we are introducing the “Game Market International Business Participation Program”. Accepted applicants will receive a number of benefits to help facilitate their efforts to create or strengthen business connections with Japanese game designers.
To go alongside with this new participation category, the requirements to apply for a media pass will be more stringent than before. Eligible applicants will be limited to established media sources, and applicants with only social media pages or non-news centric websites will no longer be considered for receiving media passes. The International Business Participation Program is our new recommended method of entering the event that better fits the goals of those with business discussions in mind.

International Business Registration FAQ
We have compiled some of the questions we have received into a FAQ.Q: What is the difference between signing up as a general exhibitor and participating in the “International Business Program”?
「Applying for general booth space is required for selling and exhibiting games, so it is the best way to connect directly with customers. Furtthermore general exhibition is meant for domestic applications so an address in Japan and the ability to understand the guidance sent from the Game Market Admin Team.
Alternatively, the “International Business Program” is solely focused on helping to facilitate game licensing discussions between Japanese game designers and overseas publishers looking to bring the titles featured at Tokyo Game Market to the international stage. Participants in this program will not be provided with any exhibition booth space but will have access to the services and meeting space to facilitate productive business licensing discussions.

About the International Business Registration
For those who are applying for general exhibition and also want to actively participate in overseas licensing discussions, we strongly recommend signing up for both general exhibition and the International Business Program.
Q: Will participants in the International Business Program have their own reserved tables or does that cost extra?
A: The dedicated meeting area will have 20 tables, spaced at least 1.5m apart. We expect that this will be enough for the number of applications we will receive and do not currently see a need to assign specific tables. However, this is subject to change based on the number of participants. We will have staff at the reception desk of the meeting area to help with making sure everyone has a place to talk, and can expand the space if needed.
Q: Will there be partitions, etc., to help prevent the details of our business discussions being overheard by others nearby?
A: There will be partitions provided in the meeting space that participants are free to rearrange as necessary If you have any other questions not answered here, please reach out to the Game Market Admin Team.
We look forward to your application. Please let us know if you have any questions.
